Shure ULX-D Rental, by the Channel
This page is for people who already know they want ULX-D and need to know exactly what we can put in a rack. We rent every part of the system: transmitters, receivers, and the accessories that go with them, sized to the number of channels your event needs, up to 30+ simultaneous channels.
Planning an event and not sure what you need yet? Start with our wireless microphone rental guide instead. It covers channel counts for theatre, corporate, worship, and graduation work.
The Components We Rent
Transmitters
ULXD2 handheld. Cardioid vocal capsule. The everyday choice for presenters, MCs, vocalists, and panel Q&A.
ULXD1 bodypack. TA4M (mini 4-pin) input, worn on a belt clip or in a mic pouch. Paired with:
- Lavalier microphones for lapel or hairline placement on actors, presenters, and lecturers
- Earset microphones for over-the-ear placement when performers are moving, dancing, or singing
Receivers
ULXD4 / ULXD4D / ULXD4Q. Single, dual, and quad-channel rack receivers. Quads are how we keep large channel counts compact: four channels per rack space.
ANX4. A 1U high-density receiver that runs up to 24 channels in ULX-D mode (16 in Axient Digital mode). We use it when a production needs a lot of channels in very little space.
Power
Transmitters run on AA batteries (8+ hours) or Shure SB900B rechargeables (12+ hours). Tell us how long your show and rehearsals run and we’ll recommend which to use.
How a ULX-D Rental Is Built
- You give us a channel count and a mix of mic types. For example: 18 bodypacks with earsets, 2 handhelds for the curtain speech.
- We pick the receivers to fit. Usually quads, or an ANX4 for high channel counts, racked and labeled by channel.
- We coordinate frequencies for your venue in Shure Wireless Workbench and program every transmitter before it leaves our shop.
- We test the full system before delivery, and can set it up on site, run it, or hand it off to your sound team.
Why We Built Our Inventory on ULX-D
- 24-bit digital audio that stays clean on loud stage vocals and quiet lecture-hall speech alike
- AES-256 encryption, so corporate and confidential content can’t be picked up by a scanner
- High channel density, which matters once you’re past 12 or so channels in one venue
- Networked control through Wireless Workbench, so we can watch battery life and RF on every channel during the show
Adding Wireless to Your House System
Plenty of theatres, schools, churches, and venues have a good house sound system but only a handful of wireless mics. When a show or event needs more, we bring in extra ULX-D channels to run alongside what you already have.
- Patches into your console. Our receivers send each channel to your mixer over analog XLR, so the extra mics show up on your board like any other input. Tell us what console you run and we’ll confirm the connection.
- Coordinated with your existing wireless. We scan the room and plan our frequencies around the mics you already own, whatever brand they are, so nothing steps on anything else.
- Racked, labeled, and ready. Receivers arrive in a rack with every channel labeled to match its transmitter, so your sound team can work with it right away.
- Your engineer or ours. We can drop off and set up for your team to run, or send an engineer to run wireless (A2) or mix the show.
